Never work with kids or animals? part 2

I have an idiot dog her name is Gypsy she thinks she is a person and should be treated as such. she is also my doggie model and a poser.

I approach pet sessions the same way i do kid sessions......... no plan what so ever. It saves alot of heartbreak and editing later. I just let them go nuts and be themselves. When I take photos of Gyp I make sure there is a ball nearby that will pretty much keep her distracted long enough so I can get at least one pic where she is not trying to climb all over me.

Just let them play and be natural.

They are just kids with fur.

There is nothing left of these tennis balls maybe a bit of fluff under the clothes line.

here are some other pet sessions.

Never work with kids or animals?

There is that old showbiz saying "never work with kids or animals" don't believe it. Get you camera out and just snap away while the kids are playing their actions and expressions will be so much more natural than posed. Try and get down to their level get eye to eye, too many shots are ruined by standing over them from 6 feet high!

I had a shoot with my neice not long ago and Riley just did not want to be a part of it. I dont force kids to pose they don't like it. So i just left him alone and continued taking pictures of mum and his sister , after a while he snuck closer and closer wanting to be apart of what was happening until he was sitting on the lounge at my shoulder
thats when i got this one. I love it its one of my favorites.

Make a theme kids got through so many phases one days its spiderman the the next its trucks. Get some photos of them playing with their favorite toys they'll laugh when they are older going through the family albums.

Have fun with kids pics and even if you don't have kids like me i steal my neices and nephews kids.

The best advice i can offer is relax have fun.

My creation

My creation, originally uploaded by bella vista photography.

I was having a bit of fun on flickr and could not resist doing one of these.

I've been unemployed for about 3 months now and really not enjoying it at all. But it has given me a chance to rediscover an old friend. i have always love the art of photography and how one image can evoke emotions and memories both good and bad. My wonderful partner Wayne gave me the best birthday gift a Nikon D40 and i have been clicking away ever since.

My love of photography started in high school back in the 80's where i was taught by Mr Brown I learnt how to roll on my own film cannisters, develop and print my own images. I still have them today. I worked as a developer for Kodak ,fought the monster that was digital for so long and gave in when i saw what can be created and how much of myself i could put into each image.

So here i go my giant leap into the great blogging world wish me luck!

My Inspirations

Thanks to Ree Drummond of Pioneer Woman (who i have been fan of for years) for giving me the inspiration and courage to start my own blog. If no one visits oh well! But if people do and like what they see please let me know.
